David Byrne was born in Dumbarton, Scotland in 1952, he is a founding member and lead guitarist of new wave band Talking Heads. The band reigned from 1975 to 1991, their hit ‘Psycho Killer’ has been described as having one of the most memorable beats in music history and the song is included in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame’s 500 song’s that shaped Rock and Roll.
Byrne’s work has been used extensively throughout film Soundtracks, most notably on Bernardo Bertolucci’s ‘The Last Emperor’ which one an Academy Award for best score.
David Byrne continues to work throughout many platforms within the arts, he has launched his own world music record label and has taken part in TED Talk’s on the positive effects of music.
